Forced Health Care Coverage

Some Democrats are pushing for a law that would require the majority of American families to sign up for either a health care insurance plan or whatever else the government will offer depending on what is passed by Congress. To Progressives, this just seems like another warm, fuzzy, feel-good policy to soothe the socialist conscience.

No matter how the politicians up in Washington say it, the meaning is still a push for more government control over your personal life. They may use a lighthearted word to push their agenda, but the translation is this, plain and simple: “Require” means force.

The punishment?

A MASSIVE FINE.

If you refuse health care coverage for whatever reason, you will have to pay for it – even if you have enough money to pay for your health care services directly or you are a perfectly healthy person with a family that will not need health care coverage anytime soon.

The Senate bill will push for a $1000 fine at the least. It seems hypocritical that the Democrats are always preaching that health care is a right – and you may or may not believe that – yet they would strip away your right not to have it. When they do that, it’s no longer a right.

It’s a mandate.

Political history shows us that mandates lead to more government control over personal and economic liberties guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. When you give out of the kindness of your heart, it is generosity, but when you are forced to give, the purpose is defeated. The reason for giving is no longer generosity or human kindness, but rather force. People are less giving now than they were ever before, and this is because they think that since they are forced to provide for the government’s idea of charity, that there is no reason to provide for causes that they believe in.

Republicans will pretend to be on your side, but remember what happened during the last eight years. Don’t forget that. Like the Democrats, they stabbed you right in the back.

Democrats and Republicans may pretend to have a strong position on issues like abortion, gay marriage, and drugs, but really, they use those issues to divide us.

Both sides ultimately have the same agenda: Higher taxes, bigger wars, more inflationary deficit spending, more government control over the free market and over personal lives, and the abandonment of America’s foundational principles for what they think benefits the “greater good.”

Remember that you don’t answer to anyone but yourself, your family, and your God. Don’t let these politicians trick you with their warm, fuzzy, feel-good policies that will only lead to tyranny in the long run.

Don’t let them take away your freedoms. It’s up to you to keep them within your grasp. Once we let the state own our property, our bodies, and our lives, the Progressives, both Democrats and Republicans, will have succeeded in what will only be the beginning of their ultimate goal.

Are you willing to let that happen?
